Angel Haze- Cleaning Out My Closet

Somewhere in between a cover and homage lies the sound of Angel Haze’s “Cleaning Out My Closet.” It’s a brave confessional track much like the classic Eminem track and, frankly, very difficult to swallow as her lyrics match the brutality of the rape itself. Angel Haze recalls her past sexual abuse in such direct language that it’s more like listening to a survivor’s narrative, and strangely equally as powerful as any visual representation.

“My biggest problem was fear/ And what being fearful could do/ It made me run it made me hide it made me scared of the truth.”
