Kendrick Lamar- Backseat Freestyle

This is really reminiscent of Kanye. Even though the beat is catchy, the lyrics are pretty ridiculous and almost represent a perfect parody of hip-hop at its worst. Kendrick begins by explaining his goal of attaining money and power, which is entirely capitalist and appropriate for his genre and the political debate this evening only to spend the rest of the track explicating his impressive quantities of female companions. It’s embarrassing for hip-hop.

“Martin had a dream/ Kendrick have a dream.”
